2nd. Series—Silence
OPUS[1] 1—for the establishment of the new civilization. (These words uttered at the moment of orgasm and coming to me during the operation).

3.30 P.M. Then O.P.V. [Norman Mudd] went out on various missions. I expected he'd be back by tea time—Read a bit after bathing, stupidly took Bromida and it quite knocked me out. Mme. came up about the cheque—I ordered lunch and was waked up by the boy bringing in lunch. I ate it and fell asleep again. Another knock and who should it be but X.
He stayed a bit, gave Madam a cheque for 749 francs and then went off on various business. I began writing (he took a letter to post for V.L. [Adam Murray] containing one for Estai [Jane Wolfe] and [Frater] L.O.V. [James Gilbert Bayley] duplicates kept) and just a few minutes ago—who should appear but Maitre Gourand himself!! So that's that!!!
