Grady McMurtry Diary Entry Sunday, 17 November 1957
Took Foxie [Claire Palmer], Shannon [McMurtry's son] and 'Kit' Dyer-Bennett up to West Point to see Karl and Sascha Germer in the place they have purchased 5 miles out of West Point on a side road to the East. They have Jane Wolfe with them.
Karl and I had a long talk. He believes a really 'big' war is in the table and suggests that I work through the 9th. They have paid some $7000 for this house and two acres of property. The only nucleus he has left is himself, Phyllis Wade [Phyllis Seckler], and Ray and Mildred Burlingame. He thinks his books and papers were burglarized by Culling [Louis Culling] and Meeka [Meeka Aldrich] while they were absent from the house in Laurel Pass in Hollywood.
