Jane Wolfe Diary Entry Thursday, 20 August 1936
Regina [Regina Kahl] saw Jake [Oliver Jacobi] tonight, out at Eagle Rock. He would scarcely speak to her, said he wanted to be left alone, that he was through with us all and did not want us to approach him in any way.
On Monday afternoon he spoke with Macbeth, head of the Gas Company on the suggestion of Wilfred [Wilfred Talbot Smith] and when Smith phoned him that evening, he said Macbeth "knew plenty". But Jake has not told us of the conversation, what was said, etc., and has in addition sent all the account books, etc., to Max [Max Schneider], of all things!
Why can he be so panicky!
