Edward Bryant
Born: 1920. Died: 1998.
Edward Bryant was a writer and friend of Frieda Harris and an acquaintance of Crowley's who had a life-long interest in the occult. He helped organize the Thoth Tarot card exhibitions in 1941 and 1942, and had a role in the publication of The Book of Thoth as well as in the composition of the "letters" which would form the book later published as Magick Without Tears.
Another of Bryant's friends was Anne Macky. After hearing of Crowley's expertise in occult knowledge she arranged for Edward Bryant to make the introduction. On 12 March 1943 he took Anne Macky out to lunch at Hatchett’s restaurant and introduced her to Crowley. Aleister Crowley noted this meeting in his journals and remarked that Anne Macky was “not so bad”. |
