The front cover is said to have been designed by Crowley while on hashish on 2 October 1907.

 

Konx Om Pax was published three separate issues.

 

These issues consisted of:

 

1) The first issue was privately published by Aleister Crowley and consisted of:

a) 1 copy printed on vellum.

b) 10 copies printed on Japanese vellum and bound in white buckram.

 

2) The second issue was privately published by the Walter Scott Publishing Company / Society for the Propagation of Religious Truth (S.P.R.T.)  and consisted of:

a) As few as 100 copies may be bound in black cloth. Although the limitation notice in this issue states 500 copies printed on hand-made paper, this issue was actually printed on machine-made paper, printed cross-grain. The limitation page states “Each copy numbered and signed” but many were issued without being numbered and/or signed.

 

3) The third issue was privately published by the Walter Scott Publishing Company / Society for the Propagation of Religious Truth (S.P.R.T.)  and consisted of:

     a) Although the limitation notice in this issue states 500 copies printed, the number of copies issued in this variant may be 400 or less. Printed on Dickinson hand-made paper and bound in white buckram. The limitation page states “Each copy numbered and signed” but many were issued without being numbered and/or signed.
