Correspondence from Aleister Crowley to Marion Dockerill
11 February 1925.
Dear Marion,
93.
Thank you for friendly letter. Philo et lib are interesting but their study must be suspended in the presence of crime. In some states of the Union and those not the least worthy of respect, kidnapping[1] is punishable with death. There is no capital punishment in Italy and Mrs. B.[liss] [Alma Hirsig] may consider it the most fortunate day of her life when she is safely in jail in that country.
P.S. If you could see Leah [Leah Hirsig] as she is in consequence of Alma's felony you would understand that no punishment could be severe enough for so ignoble a crime.
1—[Leah Hirsig's sister Alma kidnapped Leah's son, Hansi, from the Abbey of Thelema and took him to America.]
