Yes, I am afraid we are pretty dead but after this pummeling we got a little while back, we are a bit nervous to show any signs of life. . . .

Russell [C. F. Russell] must be getting a nice living out of his scheme. Subscription 12 Dollars a year each member, six goes to Russell, plus the returns from the books. He has lately made a lot of changes; had disclaimed any connection with the AA but still advertises that he will sell our books. In addition he has discontinued the use of Hebrew in his instructions on the Qabalah etc. . . .

Spencer Lewis is I understand in Cairo. . . .

. . . We really have been rather 'on the spot' since the court affair with Max [Max Schneider] and Georgia [Georgia Schneider], and the scare given Jacobi [Oliver Jacobi] from the office. At least that is the only guess I have, plus of course the marriage. The old gag of pregnancy was once more brought to bear.

Regina [Regina Kahl] is not what she should be. We recently found she was going about with 240 blood pressure. No wonder she nearly dropped now and then. Jane [Jane Wolfe] keeps about as usual but both work damned hard for little returns from the Government. We just nearly had to move but now with a 15 dollar a month raise in rent, we stay.
