- At his boarding school in Cambridge, Crowley dreams that his father has died. [56]

- Crowley's is told that father has died the previous day. [56]

- Crowley's father leaves behind £150,000 in assets; worth nearly 6 million dollars by modern standards. His will stipulates that one-third of the estate should go to his widow, Emily Crowley, one-third to Aleister, when he comes of age, and one-third to other relatives. [56]

- After the death of Edward Crowley, Aleister's mother sells the house in Glenburnie in Southampton and spends the next year or two living in various hotels. [56]

- Within three weeks of Crowley's return to a boarding school for sons of the Plymouth Brethren, located at 51 Bateman, Street, Cambridge he begins to get in trouble necessitating many visits to the headmaster's office. [56]
