- Crowley is served with a summons to be examined as to his means. This signals the start of the process in which he is declared a bankrupt. Crowley's bankruptcy results partly from his inability to pay Court costs resulting from losing his libel suit and appeal against Nina Hamnett and her book Laughing Torso. At this point Crowley also owes between £6000 & £7000 to various other creditors. [255]

- Karl Germer is arrested by the Gestapo during a trip to Leipzig, Germany and taken to Alexanderplatz Prison where he spends 10 days before being transported to Columbia House, the Berlin concentration camp.  He later finds that he has been arrested due to his connection with Aleister Crowley. - After 10 days in Alexanderplatz Prison an Arrest Warrant is issued and Karl Germer is transported to Columbia House, the Berlin concentration camp.  He later finds that he had been arrested due to his connection with Aleister Crowley. He is formally charged with "Continued communications with foreign High-grade Freemason Crowley, and for seeking students and distributing his teachings." [1], [2], [370]

After alerting Crowley that he had no plans to publish his article Crowley suea him in court. When Crowley testifies in court he apparently begins to make "strange signs and gestures with his hands in the direction of the Bench". Jane Wolfe escorts seven aspirants into the desert. Here, Wilfred Talbot Smith, Max Schneider, Oliver Jacobi, and Regina Kahl conduct the Minerval initiation, admitting seven new members. Mary Green, Irving Hendler, Frances Elizabeth Leslie, Viola Morgan, Maria R. Prescott, Ruth M.
