- Crowley is summoned back to Strathpeffer to have his marriage to Rose Kelley officially confirmed by the local sheriff. Sheriff-Substitute Alex Dewar of Ross, Cromarty and Sutherland issues his official warrant and their marriage is complete. Crowley and Rose, somewhat at a loss for honeymoon arrangements, go to the train station and buy tickets to the end of the line. [281]
