Maria de Miramar and Israel Regardie meet with the Paris Prefecture of Police and are given slips of paper (Réfus de Séjour) dated 15 February 1929, with the insistence from the Prefecture of Police that they leave the country on 9 March. Crowley, ill in bed, is unable to attend the meeting and an inspector calls later in the afternoon to bring Crowley one as well. [105]

Maria de Miramar and Israel Regardie are met by Gerald Yorke in Tilbury, England but shortly after 7 a.m. they are refused entry into England and returned to the ship Alsace. A little after 8 p.m. Regardie is visited aboard ship by a Scotland Yard detective who searched his trunk. The boat sailed at 11:30 p.m. to return them to Dunkerque, France. [116]
